2 Journals and not enough time

August 16, 2009

I have two journals going as the result of moving my webpages. If your reading this; please go to Libertylabradoodles.com and read the journal linked to the page.

This one is slowing closing as soon as I move all the pictures; my next work will be moving and then closing this journal.

It has been a fun ride and I love word press.com. I just want to have everything in one place for ease of use and to save me time.

so; update your bookmarks!

Update your book marks!

July 2, 2009

I have been working on the change over of our website to a new server. I tell you, it is like moving!

I have most of the content moved and am starting on the photo gallery pages. My hope is to have the puppies pictures organized by their litter and as I get updates and pictures I can store them there so you all can see each other’s litter mates develop.

The problem with blogging (although I love it) is storing the pictures over time eats up memory space which you then will have to purchase more of… In my new site, I am going to link the photos from the gallery and savethe photos in one organized place instead of several. It’s a grand idea but time consuming. I liken it to cleaning out a garage.

You should see how many pictures I have stored all over the place! My computer, flicker, yahoo, the blog and my old web server. What was I thinking? :)

And it does not help I get “strolling off memory lane” as I look at the pups develop through time.

And my garden and sunshine drags me away from computer work as finally work settles down.

And that I now watercolor with my mom on a weekly basis.

I plan on chipping away on it a little at a time, but if you find that your old bookmarks to photos or pages don’t work, please let me know and then start at the home page and update your book marks. Soon, okay, not soon soon… in a while … yes, a while….I will have it all under one little roof.

Happy 4th of July

July 2, 2009

Just a reminder that with Fourth of July approaching first, hang your flag!
THEN have you thought about your dog and fireworks? Some do fine with the loud bangs and whistles… while some don’t. Libby, our retired resident grandmother now is not at all comfortable with the sounds at first. She settles in with the bangs, but it those long whistles that she does not like.
Chief barks and protects our home that I am sure he thinks is under invasion!
Visit with your vet about natural soothers or some good doggie drugs for the fourth if you have neighbors like mine that think the third is the starting point and the early morning of the fifth is when they just get started with their home made or I am sure illegal fireworks.
I love the 4th of July and enjoy fireworks, but I also love my dogs, my roof, and my sleep.
Here’s to Liberty!

Henna update with a few of her pictures…

June 14, 2009

Hi Vicky & Jeff,
Hope you are almost done with the heavy work schedule.  We are enjoying Henna so much!  Her personality continues to bloom.  I forgot to answer your question.  The first night we had Henna, we put the crate in our room with the door open.  We gave her the option of sleeping in her crate or with us.  She went into her crate, came out and jumped in bed with us.  She is like a beautiful graceful horse.  She leaps over stairs and from one chair to the bed.  She’s faster than all her dog playmates in the park.  Everyone we meet thinks she’s adorable.  I’ve been sending some pictures all along and hope you are getting them.  We start “Sirius Puppy Training” next week.  She has been eating better.  At night when we are in bed, so tired, she paws us and nibbles on us to play with her.  She knows how to “sit, stay, heel and almost shake.”  She’s very smart.

Aloha,

Greg & Sue

A Roxy-Rose update….

June 7, 2009

Hi – hope all is well.

Had a gal call me tonight who is a neighbor of a friend.

She’s seen Roxy and is interested in a labradoodle.

Got me looking on your site,

and I just had to send you an updated picture.

Isn’t she just the cutest??!!!

She is turning out to be a GREAT family dog.

She’s definitely an ALPHA dog but loves to please,

and is already trained beyond our expectations

for this age (she’s almost 10 months).   Every day

we work on voice command drills and she is

amazing.  I’m still really interested in therapy dog

training….

She’s been an easy puppy.  She has lots of energy,

but the 5 of us keep her going and a new labradoodle

standard puppy moved in next door – so she has

lots of puppy play dates.

Thank you again for this great dog!

Oh Goodie! A Leo update (Gracie x Chief litter)

June 7, 2009

Hi Vicky,

How are you? I hope your trip went well, and your family is doing great!

I wanted to give you a Leo update. He is still the best puppy ever! Everyone we meet and everywhere we go, people comment on how good/beautiful/smart/soft/etc. he is. He is just under 30 lbs (a little heavier than we expected) but he is a good size – big enough that you don’t have to worry about squishing him, but small enough tot still fit on your lap. His fur is soft and wavy and great for snuggling. He loves to get his tummy rubbed.

He is a fun loving little guy, and he loves to steal things since he knows that he’ll get a treat when he gives them back (I’ve created a monster, but it’s better than buying new shoes….). He barks like a BIG dog, but he doesn’t bark often. He’s very observant, and cocks his little head when he’s listening to you. He is an “aggressive” chewer, so we have to make sure he has lots of things that he is supposed to chew on (again, he likes those shoes, the more expensive, the yummier apparently).

Here are a few pictures. I included a picture just before he got a haircut – and then after his summer cut (it came out shorter than I wanted, I loved the shaggy look, but he was really hot).

I’ve had several people asking where we got him – even the Camp Bow Wow receptionist called to find out where he came from, and a few friends. Lots of people didn’t realize Labradoodles can be so small. (Of course, I get, “is he a cock-a-poo, golden doodle, wheaten” most of the time anyway).

We love him lots!

Janeen and family
